Former RCB batter Chris Gayle has predicted Virat Kohli’s future before IPL 2024. The hard-hitting batter said that Kohli still has a lot of cricket left in him to play all formats and that the former Indian captain should make a call for himself.
Expert’s Corner
In the words of Gayle “Very unique, the one and only Virat Kohli is still going and still going very strong. He still has a lot of years left in him to play all formats. We’ll see what calls he makes for himself and Indian cricket as well,” he said.
Virat Kohli will be returning to the field after taking a break from the home test series against England due to personal reasons when RCB faces CSK in their den on the opening night of IPL 2024 on March 22
The Rivalry
The opening match between CSK and RCB is a battle that goes beyond the field of cricket with both franchises possessing one of the most loyal fan bases in IPL. It is a rivalry that will witness the beginning of a new era with Ruturaj Gaikwad taking over as CSK captain. It would be interesting to see how the team copes with the change in captaincy
RCB on the other hand would look to seize the opportunity of beating CSK at Chepauk for the first time since 2008 and would hope their top three batters especially Kohli give the team a good start for the team to have any chance of beating CSK
The Opportunity
The tournament also provides an opportunity for Virat Kohli to cement his place in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup as reports were suggesting the omission of Virat Kohli from the squad for the multination tournament
