Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni stole the limelight with his magnificent diving catch against Gujarat Titans which took the internet by storm with fans from every part of the world praising Dhoni’s quick reflexes at the age of 42.

Dhoni’s catch was a crucial moment in the game as it broke a threatening partnership between Vijay Shankar and Sai Sudharshan and helped CSK register their second win of the 2024 IPL season in as many matches

Not only fans but experts were also in awe of Dhoni’s effort behind the stumps which was evident by words of praise for the former Indian captain by Australian batter Steve Smith who is working for Star Sports

Reacting to Dhoni’s diving effort Smith said “There’s no one better in India to have behind the stumps than MS Dhoni. The way he understands the game and the angles of the game is second to none. So look, he was a tremendous person to play with. I really enjoyed his company on and off the field,”

“He’s such a chilled guy, obviously extremely busy with loads of things outside the game, but extremely chilled down to earth and a wonderful person. There were many occasions where MS was fantastic. You know, I really enjoyed playing with him. I enjoyed leading him as well. He certainly helped me out,” he added.

The Road Ahead

The win against Gujarat Titans helped CSK claim the top spot in the points table with their next match scheduled against Delhi Capitals on March 31.

Krishnappa Gowtham also named Dhoni as favorite cricketer of all time when asked by fellow teammate Devdutt Padikkal who recently got the Indian test cap.
