South Africa and New Zealand have come face to face on consistent basis in World Cup.

Both teams doesn’t always carry big names but somehow their team combination just works for them and they are able to compete to any team in the World.

1) Benson & Hedges World Cup 1992 – South Africa struggled batting first and only managed 190 runs on the board which was chased easily by Black caps in 34.3 overs.

2) Will World Cup 1996 – This time Newzealand repeated what South Africa did in previous World Cup. Batting first Kiwis only managed 177 runs which was chased down with 75 balls remaining by Proteas.

3)ICC World Cup 1999 – In the Super stage, South Africa piped New zealand by 74 runs.
South Africa posted a challenging total of 287 runs and won the match easily by 73 runs.

4) ICC World Cup 2003 – Played in Johannesberg, Newzealand played some attacking cricket to chased down DLS revised score of 226 runs in 39 overs.

Stepehen Fleming played a captains knock of 134 runs.

5) ICC World Cup 2011 – South Africa gave away easy chance of qualifying into semifinal as they failed down to chase a low score of 221 runs and New Zealand qualified for semis with a win of 49 runs.

6) ICC World Cup 2015 – The famous six by Grant Elliot of the Dale Steyn saw Kiwis qualified for the final against Australia.

Batting first South Africa batted really well to score 281 runs in 43 overs and at the mid innings it certainly looked like Kiwis will need something magical to pull this off.

With everything to play for, Mcculllum set the tone with 26 ball 59 runs and Grant Elliot played the innings of his life, and remain unbeaten on 84 runs and qualified for the final show down.

7) ICC World Cup 2019 – Another roller coaster of a match as New Zealand once again won a low scoring thriller, chasing 242 runs in the final over.
