In cricket, we have always seen its always the low totals that the perfect match. While fans do enjoy the hard hitting from their favourite batsman, they don’t mind bowlers makings batters dance to their ball every once in a while. Lets look at the lowest total in history of IPL by venue wise ( 2008-2023):-
1) Wankhede stadium:- The lowest score at the run feasting pitch of Wankhede is 67, made by KKR in the inauguration edition of IPL. Mumbai Indians have no problem chasing the small total and they win by 8 wickets.
2) M Chinnaswamy stadium :- RCB has the unfortunate record for the lowest score at their home ground as they only managed to score 82 runs in the very first match of IPL history chasing 222 runs. Fans got to witness the timeless classic innings of now England’s head coach Brendon Mccullum 158 runs, but they didn’t get to see any counter innings from their favourite RCB side.
3) M Chidambaram stadium :- RCB once again find themselves in this embarassing list as they were bundled on mere 70 runs against 5 times IPL winner Chennai Super kings.
4) Eden Gardens : The ground keeps changing but the team which holds the record for lowest at different venues does not, as RCB once again holds the record for the lowest total at the second largest stadium of India. RCB even didn’t get to 50 runs as whole team got out at 49 runs. This is also the all time lowest score in IPL history.
5) Arun Jaitley Stadium : The home team, Delhi Capitals has the unfortunate record for lowest total at their home ground. Delhi Capitals chasing 212 bowled out at only 66 runs, their lowest score in IPL.
6) Rajeev Gandhi international Stadium :- Not so long ago Delhi Capitals didn’t have the outing they would like to have playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home ground. A tricky pitch as Delhi got all out for only 80 runs.
7) IS Bindra stadium Mohali: A 10 wicket win for Kings 11 Punjab as they were chasing only 68 runs against Delhi Daredevils.
8) Ekana stadium :- The new of the lot but Ekana stadium already have the reputation to host low encounter thrillers. This one in particular saw 108 runs in total from their home team.
