Playing IPL is a dream for millions, while IPL constantly features the most successful foreign cricketers, such is the competition that one bad match can put curtains on your IPL career altogether. Here’s look at international players who played only 1 IPL match in their lifetime :-

1) Abdur Razzak – The Bangaldeshi left arm spinner had quite illustrated international career. He featured in 154 ODIs, 13 tests and 34 T20s for his national team, but when it comes to IPL, he has only 1 game to show to his name.

He played for the star-studded RCB in the first edition of IPL, IPL 2008 but his bowling figures of 29 runs in 2 overs didn’t help his course, as that was the last time his fan saw him rolling his arms for RCB or any other franchise in IPL.

2) Younis Khan :- The big name of Pakistan Cricket also has checked the box of playing IPL in his lifetime, but that’s that much only.

His only appearence was when he played for Rajasthan Royals against Kings 11 Punjab, but his 3 runs for 7 balls slimed his chances of playing his next game and infact that was the only IPL game he ever played.

3) Andre Nel – Indian fans remember Andre Nel from the memory of his animated sledging with Sreeshanth. The Southafrican fast bowler also played IPL, but not more than once, featuring for Mumbai Indians against Delhi Capitals.

A 3 for 31 is not bad for your first game but Nel didn’t get a chance to better his IPL figures as he never played again.

4) Damien Martyn – The easy to the eyes handsome Australian batter Damien Martyn has also only 1 IPL match to his name. In 2010 edition of IPL, it was Rajasthan Royals who got the Australian batter in their squad.

19 runs of 24 balls in a low scoring game, it was hard on Damien Martyn to never be again trusted in the shortest format of the game.

5)Mashrafe Mortaza :- The former Bangladeshi captain was a utility cricketer in the shortest format of the game. Not only he could bowl but also hit few down the ground batting lower down the order.

In IPL though, he could not bring his A game as he conceded 58 runs in 4 overs and that was the last IPL game he played for any franchise.

6)Brad Haddin :- The Australian wicketkeeper did no wrong when he got his only chance to feature in IPL game in black jersey for KKR. A quickfire 18 runs with 2 fours and 1 six also was not enough to get him his second game in IPL.

7)Doug Bracewell – Not very known among fans, New zealand allrounder played his alone match for Delhi Capitals. Impressive 3 for 32 and 12 runs in batting, Bracewell certainly was unlucky to never feature in IPL again.

9)Akila Dhananjaya :- The Srilankan mystery bowler found himself a place in Mumbai Indians in 2018, 6 years after he debuted for Sri lanka.

He didn’t have a good outing in the match against Delhi Capitals as he concluded with a costly spell of 4 for 47 runs with no wicket to his tally. He is still to feature in his second IPL game.
