The Mumbai Police apprehended Vaibhav Pandya, the stepbrother of cricketer Hardik Pandya, on allegations of defrauding him and his brother Krunal Pandya of Rs 4 crore in a business-related issue. Vaibhav Pandya was identified as the accused and was taken into custody by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police on March 10th.
As per the EOW, Vaibhav established a polymer company in 2021, entering into a partnership with the Pandya brothers, each holding a 40% stake while Vaibhav held 20%. The business terms specified equal capital investment from the Pandya brothers and a profit-sharing ratio aligned with their respective ownership percentages.
If the reports are to be believed which was published by India Today, Vaibhav breached the partnership agreement by redirecting business profits to another firm, resulting in a Rs 4.3 crore loss for the cricketers. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the Mumbai Police, leading to Vaibhav’s arrest. After appearing before a competent authority, he was remanded to police custody for five days.
With the smile on Hardik Pandya face in the above pic, it look like Hardik really trusted him with money and love, but unlike dogs humans can betray, there is no surprise in that.
MS Dhoni duped of INR 15 Crore by former business partner
In recent times, instances of cricketers being deceived have become increasingly common. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has filed a criminal case against Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited in a Ranchi court. According to reports from the news agency IANS, Dhoni entered into an agreement with Diwakar in 2017 to establish a global cricket academy.
However, Diwakar failed to fulfill the agreement’s conditions, which included payment of a franchise fee and profit sharing. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue, Dhoni resorted to legal action on August 15, 2021. Dayanand Singh, representing Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, has claimed that Aarka Sports deceived them, resulting in losses exceeding Rs 15 crore.
