New Zealand and Pakistan have come head to head in World Cup more often then we think. While black caps didn’t have any big names in their squad, Pakistan bowling has always been very lethal.

1) Prudential World Cup 1983 – New Zealand won the 6th match of Prudential World Cup 1983 by a good margin of 52 runs.
Batting first in the 60 overs format, Kiwis made 238 runs.
Pakistan made a mess of the target and only made 186 runs.
2) Benson & Hedges World Cup 1992 – In the home conditions at Christchurch in New Zealand, Pakistan had a big win to their name as they defeated kiwis by 7 wickets.
Batting first, New Zealand was bundled up on only 166 runs which was chased down easily by Pakistan.
3) Wills World Cup 1996 – Pakistan once again turned up on the winning side as they won the match by 46 runs.
Batting first, Pakistan saw team contribution and put a competitive total of 281 on the board.
New Zealand tried their best and saw good lower order contribution but in the end 281 runs turned out to be too many for Pakistan.
4) ICC World Cup 1996 – Hatrick of wins for Pakistan against Kiwis as they once again had a significant win by 62 runs.
Batting first Pakistan had 269 runs on the board which their bowling attack defended quite easily.
5) ICC World Cup 2011– As it happens, more often than not in cricket, New Zealand finally was able to turn the tables and had 24th match of ICC World Cup 2011 in their favour.
New Zealand batted first and put a good score of 302 runs which was way above the reach of Pakistan as they only managed 192 runs.
Abdul Razaak tried to fight hard for his team making 62 runs at the lower order but it was already too late for Pakistanis.
6) ICC World Cup 2019 – As of recent memories, Pakistan will start their campaign on high against Kiwis as they won by 6 wickets in their last encounter with blackcaps in the ICC World Cup 2019.
Batting first, New Zealand made 237 runs which was chased down with 5 balls remaining.
