Sandeep Sharma has been a consistent performer in IPL over the years. After making his debut for Kings 11 Punjab way back in 2013, Sandeep has 114 wickets in 104 matches so far he has played with some big scalps to his name, 7 times he has dismissed the former Indian captain Virat Kohli.

Sandeep Sharma is not someone who only have IPL numbers behind him. He rose through the ranks in domestic cricket and was part of two u-19 world cup India played in which he was major contributor in India lifting the 2012 u-19 World Cup.

With World Cup T20 coming in June in USA and Carribean islands, Indian team management are likely to declare the World Cup probables by 28th April. The IPL is nearby half way stage and none of Indian fast bowlers except Bumrah has shown consistency.

Siraj has been going for lot of runs and Arshdeep also is not looking in any form.

With impact player rule coming into picture and lot of batting friendly pitches, its tough for bowlers to sustain a economy of even 10 runs per over, but Sandeep Sharma has once again showed that he has got the skills for the shortest format of the game.

He has already picked a fifer in the tournament and in every match he is showing his skills at the big stage. But all the appreciations and support is fine, but nothing can match the India call up for the 30 year old fast bowler.

Let’s look at 3 reasons why Sandeep Sharma is a good choice for India for T20 World Cup :-

1)A good action :- Sandeep Sharma has got a good action. A slightly more open chested that gives him control on to bowl tight lines consistently. The arms come in straight line but its his ability to hit good lengths consistently is what sets him apart and his action allows him to do so.

He is not a big guy but he gets the job done and that should be the sole criteria for his selection in T20 World Cup.

2)Bowling in middle overs and death :- T20 format is turning out to be the format in which batsman are just going berserk from ball one. There is no time to seeing the first few balls as there is long batting line up waiting for their chance.

Most of the matches finishes at 6 or 7 wickets and that tells about that you don’t need to play the waiting game, instead should go all guns blazing from ball one.

In T20, teams always starts on high in powerplay, but its the middle overs that decides what the opponent will be chasing.

If the opponent team has bowlers who has got all the skills for T20 game, those variations, control on lines, use of different angles, then its difficult to maintain the same strike rate of powerplay and Sandeep Sharma is one such bowler who is terrific in middle overs.

In middle overs, Sandeep can uses his skills and cutters and different angles to suffocate the opponent of any scoring opportunities and can really do wonders for team India.

3)Huge experience behind :- Sandeep Sharma is still young at 30 years of age and he has been playing IPL now for more than decade. Every year he is among the wicket columns and have dismissed the greatest of batsman multiple times talks about his level of skills.

With such a vast IPL experience behind and bowling in different and difficult situations, Sandeep brings a lot of mind game behind him which can certainly help India at the biggest of the tournament.

Well, it will be the final call of team management comprising of captain Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid and Ajit Agarkar but a clever captain will certainly have his eyes on him as Sandeep Sharma is tailor made for T20 cricket.

Recently, former cricketer Virender Sehwag also included Sandeep Sharma in his team for World Cup.
