Pakistan has announced his 17 man squad for the Asia Cup. While there are usual names in the squad, Tayyab Tahir is the name not known to many, specially the Indian fans.
so who is Tayyab Tahir?
Tayyab Tahir is 30 year old and he plays for Pakistan in middle order. So far he has played only 3 T20I for Pakistan and is ye to make the ODI debut, so how in the world he is in the scheme of things suddenly for Asia cup.
Well, Tayyab Tahir made a splendid century at the pivotal number 4 position, in the recently held Emerging Asia Cup in which Pakistan defeated India by 128 runs. Tayyab in particular played a destructive innings of 108 runs of 71 balls.
This particular innings of him made the selectors to give him a call for the Asia cup. Tayyab previously also has played in Pakistan Super League.
Talking about his batting style, he has clear mind on which shots to play and is good at picking gaps.
Well, it will be interesting to see if he gets his name in the playing 11 in asia cup but good to see Pakistan has good backups available at middle order, the aspect of them which have failed them many times on big stages.
He debuted in first class cricket in 2015, so its long 8 years for him to get the Pakistan call up.
From his interviews, he looks a grounded and humble personality and always looking to improve his game.
