IPL 2024 is going to start from March 22, 2024. The most prestigious of all franchise t20 cricket dates back to 18 April 2008. While most of the matches go down to the haywire, lets look at the highest runs in each of the IPL ground from 2008-2023:-
1) Wankhede stadium – The 49 year old ground saw the lusty hitting from AB De villers and Kohli as both former Southafrican captain and Kohli remained not out on 133 and 82.
Mumbai Indians tried their best but fell short by 30 runs.
2) M Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore – Once again its RCB on the list as this time the universal boss played a splendid innings of 175 not out with 17 sixes to take RCB to a mammoth total of 264.
Pune warriors captained by Aaron Finch got no where close to the total and bundled up at the score of 133.
3) Chepauk Stadium, Chennai – A high thrilling encounter in Chepauk saw massive hitting from both sides as Chennai and Rajasthan Royals went in head to head in the 32nd match of IPL in the year 2010.
CSK holds the record for the highest score of 246 with a century from Murali Vijay. Rajasthan Royals did try their best but fell short by 23 runs.
4) Rajiv Gandhi international stadium, hyderabad – 231 is what the highest score at the home ground of Sunrisers is and they themselves hold the record against RCB in IPL 2019.
5) Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi – Once again home team holding the record for highest score. Delhi Daredevils made 231 runs against Kings 11 Punjab in 2011 and went on to win the match by 29 runs.
6) Ekana stadium, Lucknow – The new name among the IPL venue list, Ekana stadium is yet to feature a 200+ game as the pitch is always a little on the trickier side and help spinners and its difficult to hit from ball 1.
The highest score so far in Ekana is 193 by the home team against Delhi Capitals in the 2023 edition of the IPL.
7) Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad – With a capacity of 132,000 spectators, Narendra Modi stadium is the biggest of all cricket stadium in India. The highest score at the World Cup 2023 final venue in a IPL match is 233 by the home team Gujarat Giants against Mumbai Indians.
8) Eden Gardens, Kolkata – With its roots as old as 1864, the oldest and second largest of India Eden Gardens registered the highest score of 235 runs by CSK against the home team in the 2023 edition of the IPL.
9) IS Bindra stadium, Mohali – Both the teams in the 38th match of 2023 IPL got to 200+ score but it was the Lucknow Supergiants who holds the record of highest score at IS Bindra stadium Mohali with 257 runs.
