These cricketers have pursued their passion for cricket while also working as software engineers or developers in reputed companies. Saurabh Netravalkar: Software Engineer 

Saurabh Netravalkar is the current captain of the USA cricket team, but he was born and brought up in Mumbai. He played for Mumbai in domestic cricket and was also a part of the India Under-19 squad that reached the final of the 2010 World Cup. He has a degree in computer engineering from the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. He worked as a software engineer at Oracle in Bengaluru for two years, before moving to the USA to pursue his master’s degree in computer science at Cornell University. He continued to play cricket in the USA and was selected for the national team in 2018. He led the USA to their maiden ODI status in 2019.

Yogesh Golwalkar: Software Developer

Yogesh Golwalkar, a former Indian cricketer who quit the game to pursue a career in software development. He was a leg spinner who played for Madhya Pradesh and India A, and also had a stint with Middlesex. He left cricket at the age of 28 and moved to the UK, where he did his MBA and worked as a corporate banker. He continued to play amateur cricket in Ireland and also coached the Ireland women’s and Under-19 teams. In 2015, he got a chance to return to professional cricket when he was picked by Kings XI Punjab in the IPL auction.His journey from cricket to software and back to cricket, and his excitement to play in the IPL was amazing.

Ravichandran Ashwin: Software Engineer

Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the best spinners in the world and a key member of the Indian cricket team. He has won several awards and accolades for his performances and has also captained various teams in domestic and franchise cricket. He has a degree in information technology from the SSN College of Engineering, Chennai. He worked as a software engineer at Cognizant Technology Solutions in Chennai for a short while, before quitting his job to pursue his cricketing career. He made his debut for India in 2010 and has since become one of the most successful bowlers in all formats of the game.
