IPL is the shortest format, while there are some experimental formats going on like 100 balls or T-10, T20 provides the ideal match time for viewers and 3 hour of great entertainment.
While a batsman have the chance to score a 100 of 50 or 60 odd balls if they open the innings, a bowler only gets 24 balls to weave their magic.
In 24 balls, to take 6 wickets is not less than a miracle, that’s why it has happened only a few times.
In international cricket it has happened 5 number of times, but when it comes to IPL, only 3 bowlers so far has taken 6 wickets haul. Lets have a look at them :-
1)Sohail Tanvir :- Sohail Tanvir with his awkward action totally dismantled Chennai Super Kings way back in 2008. Sohail 6 wicket for 14 runs helped Rajasthan Royals to restrict CSK to only 109 runs which was chased down easily without any fuss.
2)Adam Zampa :- The Australian leggie who pulled out of 2024 IPL for personal reasons enjoyed his bowling quite a lot against Sunrisers in 2016 when he took 6 wickets for 19 runs on a spin friendly wicket.
Zampa 6 wickets turned out to be not enough for Rising Pune Supergiants as SRH won by 4 runs.
3)Alzari Joseph :- A lot too handle for the Antiguan cricketer as his IPL debut with 6 wickets helped Mumbai Indians defend a low total of 136 runs against SRH.
