Mumbai Indians have started their campaign against Gujarat Giants. With Pandya as captain, people were expecting some surprise names in the squad and Pandya and Boucher didn’t disappoint Mumbai fans.
Mumbai Indians have featured Tilak Varma who is no more uncapped and Punjab batsman Nehal Wadhera consistently in the squad in the last season. Both have given good returns of the team faith in them but surprisingly for the opening match, people were surprised to not find Nehal Wadhera in the playing 11.
While he could have still been used as an impact player, its his state player Naman Dhir who ditched him for the final playing 11.
Let’s find out who is unknown Naman Dhir :-
1)Naman Dhir plays for Punjab. He has 2 centuries in 20 innings of Ranji games and in 5 domestic T20s, he has made 39 runs in total. Not quite impressive, well read on.
2)Naman made 466 runs in Sher-e-Punjab T20 cup with a strike rate of almost 200. Sher-e-Punjab is domestic t20 cup of Punjab. Nehal Wadhera and KKR Ramandeep Singh also played in it.
3)He was part of Reliance 1 squad and played along Hardik Pandya. In 4 matches he scored 109 runs at a strike rate of 149.
4)He can roll his arms for some occasional off breaks. 8 wickets to his name in 10 Ranji games he has played so far.
