1) Monty Panesar, full name Mudhsuden Singh Panesar was born in Luton, England to Indian Parents. Panesar father was real estate developer and architect and moved to Luton from Punjab in 1979.

2)With many nicknames like “Monty”, “Monty Python”, “The Sikh of Tweak”, “The Beard to be Feared”, Monty Panesar was described as best finger spinner in the world in his early days by coach Duncan Fletcher.

3)In his debut match, he took the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Kaif. He has 167 wickets in 50 tests he played for England.

4)In 2016, Panesar opened about the mental illness he had been suffering and spoke about using medicine to cope up with paranoia and anxiety that came after loss of confidence.

5)In August 2013, Monty was fined after he urinated on a doorman following his ejection from Brighton Club.

6)He married Gursharan Rattan but the marriage ended in divorce due to family differences. Monty as a guy is likable personality in general.

7)After his retirement, he studied sports journalism from St Mary University London.
