The men’s team that represents Uganda in international cricket is the national cricket team, also known as the Cricket Cranes.

The Uganda Cricket Association, an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1998, is in charge of organizing the team.

Uganda fielded an international squad for the first time in 1914, when they played the East Africa Protectorate. However, they didn’t start playing regularly until the early 1950s, when they frequently went up against rivals from the region, Kenya and Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika).

A unified East African squad, which was reorganized as East and Central Africa in 1989, included players from Uganda starting in 1966.

Uganda has secured a spot in the top two in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Region Qualifier and secured a ticket for the T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in the West Indies and the United States, after winning five of their six games.

In the east africa cup conducted for the qualification in the World t20 2024, Uganda emerged as table toppers, and finally reserving the seat for World Cup 2024 by beating Rwanda.
