India and Pakistan cricket matches are one of the biggest blockbusters of the Cricket World. But there is much more to it than just fierce rivalry. We have been a witness to some stunning cricket matches between the two teams but what often goes unnoticed are the moment’s of friendship shared by the arch rivals. Today in this article lets discuss five such moments of friendship between the India and Pakistan cricket teams.
The first moment in the list was when Indian veteran Sehwag Defended Sarfaraz Khan’s English during an interview. The Pakistani cricketers are always trolled for their English vocabulary but this one time Sehwag wrote something perfect on Twitter bashing the trollers. “Criticizing Sarfaraz for not speaking English is insane. His job is to play & he has done brilliantly to take Pak in finals #StopColonialMindset” he wrote and extended his support to the then Pakistan captain.
The second moment in the list was when Virat Kohli Gifted His Bat To ace Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir. It was back in 2016 ahead of their mouthwatering World T20 clash when Virat took the bowler by surprise as he handed over the prized bat to Amir during a pre-match practice session at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. Amir too thanked him for this wholesome gesture and the video of the incident went viral on social media for all the right reasons.
The third moment in the list was when Yuvraj, Dhoni, and Kohli posed with Pakistani cricketer Azhar Ali’s kids. It was tet another fan boy moment as the legendary Indian cricketers have fans worldwide and this time it was Azhar Ali’s little boys who got the chance to get up close with them. Azhar Ali himself posted the picture thanking them to pose with his boys and wrote “Thanks to these legends for sparing their time for my kids they were so happy.” This tweet won a lot of cricketing hearts off the field around the globe.
The fourth moment in the list was when Pakistani cricketer Kainat Imtiaz publicly revealed that Indian pacer veteran Jhulan Goswami was her inspiration. It happened during the World Cup 2017 when Pakistan Cricketer praised Indian legend Jhulan Goswami by posting a picture on Instagram. She wrote “In 2005 I saw the Indian team for the 1st time as the Asia cup was held in Pakistan. I was the ball picker during the tournament. I saw @julangoswami, the fastest bowler of that time. I was so impressed that I chose cricket as a career. Specifically fast bowling. It’s a proud moment for me as after 12 years today in 2017 I am playing this ODI World Cup with one of my inspirations and getting more inspired……. “ This heart touching message was one of the sweetest off the field incidents in the history of the two teams.
The fifth and the last moment was when Indias ex captain Dhoni had a dad moment with Sarfaraz Ahmed’s son as they clicked an adorable picture together.
