Mohammad Hafeez who was appointed Director of Pakistan men’s cricket team in the aftermath of a disappointing ICC World Cup 2023 campaign, is going to resign from the prestigious job in just 2 months.
Though the planned contract was for 4 years, but after dismal performace of Pakistan in 3 test matches against Australia and 5 t20 matches in Newzealand, of which Pakistan was only able to win 1 t20 match, things didn’t turn as planned for Professor Hafeez.
Hafeez has always been seen as respected member of Pakistan team, who has a good cricketing brain over his shoulder.
The appointment of him as Pakistan cricket team director certainly paved ray of hopes in Pakistan cricket fans, but it took only 2 short tours for PCB to decide on what lies ahead for Hafeez, the prestigious job of Team director certainly not one of them.
Hafeez has been vocal about what’s been happening inside PCB and he has represented his views on the platform X.
He has clearly said to reveal some amateur practices inside PCB and cricket fraternity over the world and Pakistan cricket lovers just couldn’t wait on what Professor has to say about the inside politics of PCB.
As of now, Pakistan doesn’t have any international cricket scheduled as all their players will be seen in the prestigious PSL, which is live streamed in India by fancode app.
They are scheduled to play 5 t20s against England in England starting 22 May 2024, before finally playing the inaugural T20 match in the t20 World Cup against host USA on 6 June 2024.
As a cricket fan, we certainly want things to settle for the better for Pakistan. Hafeez or not him, Pakistan certainly should have a long plan to things and removing the director just after 2 months certainly not going to fix things, whatever they may be.
