PSL( Pakistan Super League) has commenced from 19 February, 2024.
The premier t20 league which is certainly most popular worldwide after IPL, is seeing participation from lot of big guns and although the most of the matches are going to haywire, fans have their own reasons to not watch a single match if one of the sponsor is not removed, and that is KFC.
KFC which specialises in fried chicken, is the second largest restaurant chain after Mcdonald.
All good so far, so where the problem arises?
KFC parent company is yum brands which is known to fund lot of israeli startups.
Yum brands with the older name of Tricon Global Restaurants is an American multinational fast food corporation listed on the fortune 1000.
It collectively operates the brands such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco bell, and Habit Burger Grill.
The disappointment among Pakistan fans is what Israel has done to Palestine.
The continuous bombing over Gaza which has claimed thousands of lives of kids, women and men by Israel is the reason why fans don’t want any American multinational company to represent PSL, as America has been giving full support to Israel.
Twitter is flooded with tweets of fans who wants complete boycott of PSL if KFC is not removed as the sponsors.
PSL is our own brand and we all know how crazy we are for cricket but for Palestine it holds no value. Even if we have to sacrifice thousands of leagues, we will do it but we will not support such league that is backed by Israeli sponsors. #BoycottPSL #PSL2024 pic.twitter.com/M2trHrfz9w
