1)Ronnie Irani’s father married Ronnie mother Anne Main when he came in England to play club cricket in 1961. Ronnie Irani is of Irani descent. Irani’s migrated to India after British Raj.
2)Everybody in India and England know him for his good performances in the Natwest series in 2002. He was awarded Fan Player of the series for his 169 runs and 8 wickets in the series.
3)He stopped bowling in 2003 because of right knee arthritis condition and retired at the age of 35. He played as a specialist batsman in his later years.
4)He published his autobiography named “No Boundaries: Passion and Pain of the pitch”. The book is available in amazon at 750 INR.
5)He played in total 3 test and 31 ODIs for England.
6)He is supporter of Manchester United as his father used to take him to Manchester football games from childhood.
7)He now works as a cricket speaker and as a guest at cricket events as fans remember him for his on-field persona.
8)In the final of Natwest trophy, he got the important wickets of Rahul Dravid and Dinesh Mongia.
9) He was a tall guy with height of 6 feet 4 inches.
10)There have been other incidents too of tall medium pacers struggle with knee injury. Nathan Bracken of Australia also sued Cricket Australia for net getting right medical advice when his knee was injured that shortened his career.
