The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is turning out to be a nightmare for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans as well as players. This season did not meet the expectations of the fans, considering the kind of exceptional form in which the key players were in for the team. Currently, the team is placed in the ninth spot in the points table with just one victory out of the five games they have played so far in the tournament.
Although the former RCB skipper Virat Kohli has been in sublime form in the IPL 2024, the rest of the batting hasn’t really got going. In addition to their batting struggles, their bowling performance has also been below par. The bowling department has failed to successfully defend a total in the tournament thus far. One more major issue with the team is their spin bowling which is currently headed by Mayank Dagar, who has struggled to find his form so far. Moreover, with Glenn Maxwell bowling well RCB has a plan to stick with him as the lead spinner and play with four proper seam bowling options. In that case, let us look at what the team would look like;
#Team 1
RCB can continue with Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis opening the batting followed by Rajat Patidar at number three. These three will form the top order of the batting. The four slots will be taken by Glenn Maxwell followed by Cameron Green at number five. The number six position will be slotted in by Mahipal Lomror and the number seven spot will be taken by Dinesh Karthik. Both Karthik and Lomror will be responsible for finishing the innings. If in case RCB are batting first they can have Saurav Chauhan as an Impact substitute and later on change it with Reece Topley. Lastly, RCB can go with an all-seam bowling attack featuring Vijaykumar Vyshak, Aakash Deep, Mohammad Siraj and Reece Topley
Playing XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik (W), Vijaykumar Vyshak, Aakash Deep, Mohammad Siraj, Reece Topley
Impact Substitute: Saurav Chauhan
#Team 2
For the second team combination, the opening pair will remain the same with Virat and Faf opening the innings for RCB. The number three position will be taken in by Will Jacks, who has been in a rich vein of form coming into this tournament. The number four position will be taken in by Glenn Maxwell, number five will be taken in Saurav Chauhan followed by Mahipal Lomror at number six. The number seven position will be taken in by Dinesh Karthik and followed by an impact substitute batter in case they are batting, Suyash Prabhudessai. Lastly, the four seamers will be Yash Dayal, Mohammad Siraj, Lockie Ferguson, Vijaykumar Vyshak
Playing XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Will Jacks, Glenn Maxwell, Saurav Chauhan, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik (W), Yash Dayal, Mohammad Siraj, Lockie Ferguson, Vijaykumar Vyshak
Impact Substitute: Suyash Prabhudessai

The number six position will be taken in by Mahipal Lomror and number seven will be taken by Dinesh Karthik. The number eight will again be an impact substitute player Manoj Bhandage. Moreover, RCB can then go with four proper pacers Aakash Deep, Yash Dayal, Mohammad Siraj, Tom Curran
